Cut to the office from which she is running her operation, and we have the one and only time Dr Kelly is permitted to speak to another woman. This being a movie that plays with tropes, however,  the woman Kelly gets to speak to is not a white woman wishing to discuss relationships, but rather she is a professional woman, providing important tactical notes, while being played by the excellent Tamara Tunie. Kelly is then presented with Devoe, who announces he is her military liaison, and immediately tries to dismiss his terrible behaviour from just moments earlier with a flirtatious smile, and another empty apology. Kelly is having none of it, asks if he wants coffee, then says, “It’s over there.”
