Kali shrugged, and sank down onto the path, sitting cross-legged. Sam and Eleanor followed her example.

He’d heard this story before, and it was sweet enough if you liked that kind of thing. Romantic, too, though not half as romantic as it would have been to show Eleanor around the garden on his own.

Not that he was supposed to be thinking about romance with Eleanor. He was meant to be asking her to help him set up a meeting with her dad.

He sighed. He still had no more idea how to do that than he knew how to get a moment alone with her.
