As Sam walked Mandy back to her place, neither of them said anything until they were half a corridor away.
Then Mandy said, “There’s nothing really wrong at home, is there?”

Mandy followed the direction of his eyes, nodded, and took a deep breath. “Well, whether there is or not, I really appreciate you helping Eleanor get me out of there. I can’t believe I thought she was just being whiny when she talked about what a jerk Wilson Cartier is."
