He was still working up there, even though he didn’t really need to anymore. Captain Mackey and his lawyer had persuaded GenM, ship security, and the hospital to settle, giving Sam everything he’d asked for, plus free health care (including his lung treatments) for the next five years, plus enough cash to get him, Kali, and several of his cousins through university.

They could hardly do anything else given the public outcry over how Sam had been treated.
