Tori didn’t understand it. They’d drifted off course for the third time in as many days, and once again, she couldn’t find anything at all wrong with their systems.

The autopilot was in prime working condition, and so were their sensor arrays and navigation panels. So what was causing the trouble?

She shifted the ship back on track and then pulled up the navigation log that recorded every minute shift in course. If she went through it manually, maybe that would reveal something that her computer searches hadn’t revealed.

Since myriad tiny adjustments were required to keep the spinning ship on a straight path, the log was hundreds of thousands of lines long, and it all looked the same.
