granted Demjanjuk was revoked and he was committed to the custody of the Attorney General of the United States, pending the issuance of a warrant of surrender by the Secretary of State. Demjunjuk v. Petrovsky, 776 F.2d 571 (1985, Sixth Circuit).  The court ruled:

 

The district court did not err in denying Demjanjuk’s petition for a writ of habeas corpus. Under established principles of international law the re-quest by the State of Israel for extradition of Demjanjuk was within the provisions of the Treaty.

 

Demjanjuk, through his attorneys, then file a petition for a writ of certiorari at the United States Supreme Court.  The United States Supreme Court denied Demjanjuk’s petition and declined to hear Demjanjuk’s appeal on February 25, 1986,...
