MacIntyre banked the chopper away from the cliff and out of the broiling, toxic fog of black smoke. He shook his head and opened his eyes wide. His muscles ached. His eyes stung and itched. Punch through it, he told himself. The whole world was on fire, the chopper was in crappy shape, and he estimated at least twenty minutes to a landing field.

And they were overloaded by several people.

Cargo weight, Bird had said. Concentrate on the cargo capacity and hope none of those firefighter passengers had eaten too many burritos.
