“It’s been a while since I updated my career resume,” I said, putting the lid back on my  empty water bottle.

Alex looked up from the salad box. “Really?”

“Yeah. No need.”

“You should. I mean, you have your TV work to add. And all those projects you’ve worked on - the Human Books, the Art Lending Programme, the book clubs, the courtyard garden, friends of the library. You never stop.” Alex pulled me in for a kiss. “You’re a tornado of energy.”

“Hmm.” I stretched out on the picnic blanket, soaking up the late summer sunshine. “I don’t feel like a tornado right now.”
