The magnet felt alive in my hand, and certainty ran through my entire body. “Absolutely. Damn him!”

“What?” Runner took a left turn down a little-used street, but I didn’t say anything, figuring the werewolf knew his territory well enough to find the quickest route.

“It makes sense. The rogue was active then, so Malachai was in town. I doubt he does much of anything by accident, so he’d want to see what Paul’s allies could do.”
