The tree gave way, but instead of falling to his death, Arrin’s wrist was grasped by a strong hand. He looked up to see who his savior was, but the sun was in his eyes so all he could see was a shadowy outline of a man.

“I’ve got you,” said the man.

His voice sounded familiar, but Arrin couldn’t quite place it. As soon as he was once again on solid ground, Arrin scooted away from the edge and came to his feet with the sun at his back so he could see his savior. The man was armed with a laser, and looked exactly like him, except his dark eyes were colder and his expression harsher.

Arrin’s eyes widened at sight of his twin. “Collin? How are you here?”
