Arrin refused to beg. He’d already humiliated himself enough by making love to his drugs in front of Collin. The least he could do was die with dignity. He lowered his eyes having no wish for his last sight in life to be the coldness in his brother’s eyes, and saw how close to the edge Collin stood. He reacted without considering the consequences, and kicked Collin’s legs out from under him.

For the remainder of his life whenever Arrin recalled this moment, what he’d most remember was the horror at the realization of imminent death on Collin’s face before he toppled, screaming, over the edge of the cliff.
