Tracine stepped in front of Nora and Brad and shut Arrin’s door. “Thank you so much for watching Meara, but Doug needs to rest. Doctor’s orders. Talk to you soon.” She hopped in the truck and drove away.

Upon arriving at home Meara raced inside. Tracine came around to Arrin’s side of the truck with the intention of taking his arm and helping him inside.

He shied away. “I’m not an invalid. I can do it myself.”

Tracine resisted rolling her eyes and allowed him his pride, although she remained ready to catch him if necessary.
