Chapter Forty-Three

Over the last six months Arrin had become good friends with both Leo and Dale. His relationship with Gary remained strained, although Gary was friendly enough. Most of the time. Leo and Dale were aware of the rocky relationship between Gary and Arrin, so when Leo came on duty and found Arrin at his piano playing a calming melody, as he often did after a disagreement with Gary, he asked, “You and Gary have a bad day today?”

Arrin nodded. “He was stuck in my past again; continually bringing up my crimes and blaming me for choosing the wrong path. I think Tom puts him up to it. What they don’t know is it’s not necessary. I do that to myself every day already.”
