“Hello all," Elizabeth said. "I saw you standing out here and thought I’d spare you the trouble of knocking.” She greeted Dale and Pastor Willis with a hug, which they seemed to enjoy, but as she was aware of Arrin’s aversion to touch, with him she just said, “I’m so glad to see you again. Tom’s waiting in the living room. Come in. All of you.”

Elizabeth led them to the living room where Tom sat on a brown leather couch across from two matching leather recliners. When Arrin and the others entered, he came to his feet, looking sullen and angry.

“Hello Tom,” Arrin said uneasily, realizing from Tom’s rigid stance this confrontation would be a much harder than he’d feared. “Thank you for agreeing to meet with me.”
