The Turk offered a handful of coins out to Vlad in supplication, but would not meet the Prince’s fiery gaze.  Vlad slapped the coins out of his hand and lifted the man’s chin.  The merchant trembled with fear but finally met Vlad’s piercing eyes.  Vlad smiled, and the merchant smiled nervously back, unsure of what was happening.
